Marriage and Divorce - Sikh perspectives

Link to Resource

BBC Bitesize Religious Studies provides a brief overview of Sikh perspectives on marriage and divorce. There is a short test activity to consolidate learning.

Classroom suggestions:
a) Ask students to identify and define the key terms in this topic (e.g. marriage, divorce, cohabitation, faithfulness, lavanr).

b) What evidence can students find in the description of a Sikh wedding cereony to suggest that men and women are treated equally in Sikhism?
